Turkey – UNICEF Country Programme Of Cooperation 2016-2020 Annual Report 2018
Özet
There are over 3.6 million Syrian refugees with
temporary protection status in Turkey, including more
than 1.6 million children, and close to 400,000
registered asylum-seekers and refugees from other
countries. Meeting the needs of these children for
social protection and access to services remains a
major challenge, and they may face additional
disadvantages due to trauma, language problems and
discrimination. Moreover, some irregular migrants,
including children, continue to reach or attempt to
reach Europe via Turkey, many risking death at sea.
While Turkey is committed to responding to the needs
of refugees and has invested significant national
resources to provide access to a wide range of
services, their difficult conditions and unprecedented
numbers continue to require sustained international
solidarity.
