The aim of this Guide is to assist administrative officials working in the ministries and other state administration bodies in preparing gender-responsive policies, quality strategic plans and annual work plans of the institutions. It provides step by step guidance on mainstreaming gender into the strategic planning and policy-making processes at central level. The Guide provides an overview of the key steps in the strategic planning process: analysis of the situation in the planned policy area, mapping the possible entry points for mainstreaming gender, creating gender-responsive programmes and sub-programmes, defining gender-sensitive indicators for measuring the progress of specific policy and monitoring and evaluating results from implementation of gender-responsive activities and measures. This guide was produced in the framework of the UN Women project “Promoting gender responsive policies and budgets: Towards transparent, inclusive and accountable governance in the Republic of North Macedonia”, funded by Switzerland and Sweden.en_US
