The following recommendations aim to support Member States in their efforts to improve administrative data collection on intimate partner violence. We believe they would make a valuable contribution to the improvement of the International Classification of Crime for Statistical Purposes, which is being developed by Eurostat and UNODC, and the integration of a gender perspective so that crimes of violence against women can become visible in statistics. Reliable, systematic and comparable data on intimate partner violence (IPV) is necessary to measure the extent, dynamics and consequences of this form of violence against women.en_US
