dc.description.abstractGender data come in many forms, and in the digital age we would be remiss to overlook the ways in which gender equality advocates might leverage the large and unconventional datasets produced, for example, by social media platforms, real-time sensors, and electronic records. Yet gender equality advocates and technology companies rarely sit at the same table. And it is crucial that they do sit at the same table if we are to take advantage of the novel insights that digitally produced data offer, and to guarantee women and girls’ rights in their online and offline lives.en_US
