This report, in focusing on paid
work, work regimes and social networks,
aims to understand the changes in gender
norms and relations that have been sparked
by the work experiences of Syrian women
who are in the process of being resettled in
Turkey. One objective of this study is to
grasp how the change in paid work and
gender relations has affected the lives of
refugee women and whether these embody
a source of empowerment and resilience.
Another objective is to reveal the tension
women experience in the process of
displacement and resettlement, as well as
how the space for patriarchal negotiation is
shaped.
